The Red Ravens wrap up their non-conference portion of the season with a 69-53 win over the Arkansas State-Newport Aviators.
Coffevyille struggled at times on the offensive end, but were led by strong defense and a career high 30 points from sophomore Brian Griffith.
Griffith has become a big moment player for the Ravens, frequently getting shots and plays in key moments of games. Assistant Coach Braeden Proctor says it's because he puts in the work.
The Owensboro, Kentucky product has also emerged as a captain for the team, stepping up to encourage the younger players on and off the court. Griffith says the growth for him as a leader stems from struggles.
The Red Ravens have won seven of their last eight games, and sit at 7-2 on the season. Coffeyville is one of three remaining unbeatens in conference play, along with Cowley and Butler.
CCC will travel to Hutchinson to take on the Blue Dragons on Wednesday night. Proctor says the key will be winning the physical battle.
Coverage of CCC-Hutchinson begins Wednesday night at 5 p.m. CT on US 98.
