Wamego Senior Officially Commits to Tennessee

The top high school softball player in the state of Kansas is officially committed to the University of Tennessee.

Wamego senior Peyton Hardenburger has been dominating on the mound for years, leading the Red Raiders to back to back state titles.

Hardenburger verbally committed to the Volunteers last October, but made it official earlier this month. She says it's a fulfilling accomplishment to be headed to the SEC.

Peyton is ranked as the top player in the state, and the No. 4 overall recruit in the nation. She took official visits to LSU, Georgia, and Tennessee, but says the Volunteers stood out.

Hardenburger has already accomplished impressive feats, including winning Gatorade Kansas Softball Player of the Year, striking out 288 hitters in her junior season, and contributing to her community and working with organizations to combat child trafficking. She says she looks forward to embracing the Tennessee community.

Peyton and the Red Raiders will go for a three-peat when they open the season in late March.
