Ravens Edge Butler to Share Title

A game played two months later than planned ended up being worth the wait for the Red Ravens.

Coffeyville survived a defensive slugfest to beat the Butler Grizzlies 15-14, and clinch a share of the KJCCC conference championship.

Coffeyville struggled to finish drives for most of the day, but got a boost from the defense who collected a key safety in the second quarter, and from kicker Roan McCarthy, who converted two field goals.

With CCC down six with a minute left, and their backs against the wall, Joseph Vick hooked up with Jalile Bost for a 33-yard touchdown to put the Ravens in front for good.

After the Raven defense made one final stand, Coffeyville became conference champions for the first time since 2021.

Coffeyville finishes the first regular season under Nick Dobler at 9-2, and ranked top 10 nationally. They will await potential postseason play.
