Butker to Receive Knee Surgery

Kansas City will be without their starting kicker for the forseeable future.

Harrison Butker will undergo knee surgery to repair his meniscus and has been placed on injured reserve.

The Chiefs have signed kicker Spencer Shrader off the New York Jets practice squad to replace Butker. Shrader has appeared in two games this season, making two field goals and three extra points without a miss.

Butker is one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history, currently sitting third in league history with an 89.2% conversion rate. Butker has made 90% of his kicks this season, and is expected to return around the end of December.
