The Kansas Jayhawks remained unbeaten on the basketball court with a 77-69 win over the Michigan State Spartans in the Champions Classic.
The victory was special for a different reason, however, with Head Coach Bill Self winning his 591st game at Kansas, and passing the legendary Phog Allen for the most in Jayhawk history.
Self says it's an accomplishment he values.
KU struggled offensively for most of the night, but senior forward Hunter Dickinson was able to lead with 28 points and 12 rebounds. Self says despite the shooting struggles, he's happy with the team's effort.
The Jayhawks will host the Oakland Golden Grizzlies out of the Horizon League on Saturday evening.
