Red Raven football wins a thriller at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Stakes were high on Saturday afternoon, with both the Ravens and Dodge City entering the matchup 6-2 and needing to win to stay alive for a conference championship.
With Coffeyville clinging to a 13-12 lead and Dodge City attempting a field goal for the win, the Ravens made their biggest play of the season.
Brec Long had a 54-yard touchdown reception late in the first half, and the Raven defense did just enough, with Cyler Christmas securing an interception and D.J. Jackson having a sack and blocked extra point.
Coffeyville controls their own destiny, as winning each of the last two games would earn the Ravens at least a share of the Jayhawk Conference title.
The Ravens are back at home on Saturday afternoon to battle rival Independence, with coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m. and kickoff at 1 on US 98 and the Red Raven Sports Network.
