Lady Raven basketball gets the new season started on Friday night, and KGGF begins the Player Spotlight Series with sophomore guard Karys Washington.
Washington is from Fort Smith, Arkansas, and played in 32 games as a freshman at CCC. She averaged 7.6 points per game, which ranked fourth on the team, and the most by any freshman.
She says she's been working on other aspects of her game as well.
Karys was also one of the best rebounders on the team, averaging 5.5 rebounds per contest, and leading the squad in offensive rebounding, and total free throws made. She will be a key leader for Tony Turner's squad this year, and looks to help the team to a conference title.
Washington says she's excited about what this year's team has shown so far.
Karys and the Lady Ravens take the court against Connors State on Friday night at 7 p.m. CT. The game can be heard on US 98 and the Red Raven Sports Network.
