While plenty of fans in the stands have been cheering on their Red Ravens this season, the Red Raven Spirit Squad has been making sure the athletes and coaches feel the love on the sidelines.

 

Coffeyville native and CCC alum Kenzie Horner is in her first season leading the Spirit Squad, after serving on an interim basis two years ago. She says that experience prepared her for the role she has now.

 

Being a first time head coach can be overwhelming at times, especially when navigating the fall sports season of a college athletics department. Horner says she has received support from other coaches and staff on campus.

 

The Spirit Squad performs at all home football and basketball games, along with other select performances throughout the season. Horner says there will also be a performance during next week's Raven Madness.

 

Horner's Spirit Squad can also be seen in action on Saturday afternoon during the Hutchinson football game, which begins at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
