Herkelman Pleased with First Weekend

Red Raven basketball wrapped up their first weekend of scrimmages in Norman, Oklahoma, with encouraging results.

Hall of Fame Coach Jay Herkelman begins his 30th season at the helm of the Red Ravens, looking to get back on track following a down year in 2023-24. He says the opening weekend was a good opportunity for the young guys.

Coffeyville features plenty of new faces, with stars like Cris Carroll and Jahni Summers departing the program for Division 1. Herkelman says there are a few guys standing out early.

Not only did the team play three games at Oklahoma, but were also able to get a tour of the basketball arena and other parts of campus. Herkelman says that was a special opportunity for the program.

The Ravens will play in Fort Worth, Texas, this weekend, before hosting their annual Jamboree next Sunday. Herkelman will be live on the Solutions North Bank Red Raven Halftime Show next Saturday during the Hutchinson football game.
