Former West Elk Star Contributing in NFL

A former Southeast Kansas high school football star is making key plays in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Defensive tackle Isaiahh Loudermilk has been battling for playing time since being drafted by Pittsburgh in 2021, but has remained ready for his opportunity. When sent onto the field for a Cowboys' field goal attempt, Loudermilk made his mark.

Loudermilk stand 6-foot-7 and weighs nearly 300 pounds. He was a standout star at West Elk high school, playing for Coach Chris Haag from 2011-2015. He then played college football at Wisconsin, earning third-team All-Big Ten in 2020.

Loudermilk was a fifth round pick in the 2021 draft, and has 23 total tackles and one sack in his career thus far. He is not the only impressive athlete in his family, with younger brother Devin a star on the Kansas Jayhawks track and field team.
