The West Elk Patriots are one of the last remaining unbeatens in Southeast Kansas, and look to start the season 5-0 on Friday night.

 

The Patriots battle the Spartans of Cedarvale/Dexter in Week 5, following a narrow shootout win over Oswego last week. Head Coach Chris Haag says the team responded when the game was on the line.

 

CVD is also having a fantastic start to the season, sitting at 3-1 with three blowout victories. Haag says the Spartans will bring a tough challenge to the field.

 

The Patriots begin the second half of the season ranked 10th in the state in 8-man. They battle the Spartans Friday night at 7 p.m. in Howard.
