The Royals begin their playoff journey with a 2014 Championship Series rematch against the Baltimore Orioles.
Kansas City finished the regular season with an 86-76 record, placing 2nd in the American League Central. The Orioles are 91-71 on the season, and placed 2nd in the American League East.
The Royals are just the second team in MLB history to qualify for the postseason the season after losing 100 games. Manager Matt Quatraro says the team has grown so much over the season.
Baltimore is trying to snap an eight game losing streak in the postseason, including being swept last season after winning 101 games. Star shortstop Bobby Witt Jr says it's important to approach the playoffs the exact same way.
