The Kansas City Royals are heading to the MLB playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade.

 

Kansas City punched their ticket to the postseason despite losing to the Atlanta Braves, due to the Minnesota Twins loss to the Baltimore Orioles. It is the first postseason appearance for the boys in blue since they won the World Series in 2015.

 

The Royals have been led by a young superstar in Bobby Witt Jr, experienced veterans in Salvador Perez and Seth Lugo, and emerging stars in Cole Ragans, Brady Singer, and Vinnie Pasquantino.

 

Kansas City will either olay the Houston Astros or the Baltimore Orioles in the Wild Card round, depending on what happens in the final two regular season games.

 

The postseason begins on Tuesday.
