There is a heavyweight battle at the 8-man level in Southeast Kansas this week.
The West Elk Patriots take their undefeated record on the road to battle a talented Oswego Indians team. Oswego is 2-1 on the season, with two blowout wins, and a six point loss to an undefeated Marmaton Valley.
The Patriots are off to another strong start, sitting at 3-0 on the young year. Head coach Chris Haag says the team does a great job of buying in early.
Oswego's unique style of play has presented teams with challenges on each side of the ball. Haag says his team will need to rely on previous matchups to gameplan for the Indians.
West Elk and Oswego square off on Friday night at 7 p.m.
