The Caney Valley Bullpup run game was firing on all cylinders in a 42-14 victory last night over the Neodesha Blue Streaks.
Traxcyn Garton had two touchdown runs, and Raydn Martin added another in the win.
Caney's defense intercepted Neodesha on their first possession, and the Bullpups subsequently scored for the first score of the game, but the Blue Streaks responded immediately with a drive, culminated by a 65-yard touchdown from J'Vonte White to Cole Ramey. Neodesha led 7-6 after the first quarter. A 20-point second quarter for the Bullpups was the difference in the game, with Neodesha's next score not coming until late in the 4th quarter.
Special teams were the only problem for the Bullpups, as two turnovers came on attempted punt returns.
Neodesha (1-2) will take on Columbus next Friday night, while Caney (2-1) will travel to Lenexa, KS, a week from today for a Saturday match-up with Christ Prep Academy. Kickoff is set for 3:00 pm.
