The Red Raven softball program is gearing up for their first fall exhibition games next week.
The program is led by first year head coach Ashton Friend and by former Pitt State assistant coach Tyler Fuller. Freshman Emma Nelson says Friend has been approachable and helpful for players.
CCC only returns four players from last season's team, leading to a large amount of inexperience for the roster. Returner Hailey Isom says the sophomores have made an effort to step up.
Friend was an All-American at Cowley, before transferring to Washburn University to conclude her career. Isom says it's a great resource to have a coach who played recently.
The Ravens begin fall games next week, with games against Connors State College on the 17th at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., and Ottawa University on the 21st at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
