Week 1 of high school football is in full swing across all of Southeast Kansas tonight, including the Cherryvale Chargers hosting the Neodesha Blue Streaks in the High School Game of the Week.

 

The two schools enter the season with playoff hopes and expectations, and memories of an intense battle in 2023, in which Cherryvale escaped with a narrow victory.

 

Neodesha head coach Nathan West says sophomore quarterback Ja'Vonte White has learned a lot from last season.

 

The Chargers were able to defeat rivals Neodesha and Fredonia in the 2023 season. Head coach Daniel Vaughn says this is the perfect way to start the season.

 

Coverage of the High School Game of the Week begins tonight at 6:45 p.m. CT, with kickoff at 7, on Greatest Hits 104.1, KGGF. The game is moving to Greatest Hits due to the Royals game on the Mighty 690.
