Chiefs Sign Humphrey to Massive Extension

The Kansas City Chiefs have ensured that one of their team leaders is sticking around long term.

Kansas City has agreed to a four year, $72 million extension with offensive lineman Creed Humphrey, with more than $50 million fully guaranteed.

Humphrey is 25 years old, and has been everything the Chiefs could have hoped for when he was drafted in the third round three years ago. He has become an anchor on the KC offensive line, finishing third in Rookie of the Year voting in 2021, as well as earning Pro Bowl appearances in each of the past two seasons.

The deal makes Humphrey the highest paid center in the NFL at $18 million per season, more than $4.5 million per year more than Frank Ragnow, the next closest. Humphrey is now under contract with Kansas City through the 2028 season.
