The Kansas State football team has announced their 2024 season captains.
Avery Johnson, Hadley Panzer, Austin Moore, Brendan Mott, Marques Sigle, and Cody Stufflebean will lead the Wildcats into the fall with their eyes on a Big 12 Championship.
Johnson is a sophomore quarterback from Wichita, and is the highest rated QB recruit in Wildcat history. He was the MVP of the Pop-Tarts Bowl, and tied a school record with five rushing touchdowns in a game against Texas Tech.
Panzer is a senior offensive lineman from Lakin, Kansas, and started all 13 games last season. He has over 25 starts in his KSU career.
Moore is a senior linebacker from Louisburg, Kansas, who was second-team All-Big 12 and an honorable mention for Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. He needs 57 solo tackles this season to enter the Top 10 in school history.
Mott is a senior defensive end from Iowa City, Iowa, and was honorable mention All-Conference last season. He has 23 starts with 11 tackles for loss and seven sacks over the past two seasons.
Sigle is a senior safety from Omaha, Nebraska, and a former transfer from North Dakota State. He led the team with 63 tackles last season, and was second on the team with 10 passes defended.
Stufflebean is a senior defensive end from McPherson, Kansas, and has been a key rotational lineman the past two seasons. He had four tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble against Baylor last season.
The Wildcats open the season against Southeast Missouri on August 31st.
