Raven Football Building Identity

There are less than two weeks remaining until the official start of football in the KJCCC, and the new look Red Ravens are hard at work.

The team is preparing for the season opener on the 29th, when CCC travels to Salina for a matchup with Kansas Wesleyan JV.

Offensive coordinator Angel Ortiz says he is looking for players that embrace the physical brand of football the Ravens are known for.

Coffeyville has plenty of new faces, with only a few returners on each side of the ball. Associate head coach Rico Cherico says the coaches are focused on getting the players to play as a unit.

The Ravens have a team scrimmage this weekend, in one of their final tune up opportunities before the opener. Ortiz says he's looking for players to stand out on the field.

KGGF will hear from returning tight end Brec Long and returning safety Jayden Sheppard later this week, as the team takes the field for the final scrimmage of preseason.
