Red Raven Volleyball Return to Practice

A new era of Red Raven volleyball has officially begun, with the team back on campus for fall practice.

The program is led by first year head coach Kandi Midgett, who takes over after two seasons as an assistant at Labette Community College. Midgett is replacing Deardin Kelley, who took the head coaching job at Division 2 William Jewell in February.

Sophomore Briona Patterson says playing for Coach Midgett has been great.

The Ravens are looking to continue recent success, following consecutive 20+ win seasons. Sophomore Skylyn Hogan-Turner says the team is off to a strong start in practice.

The returner with the most experience for CCC is sophomore setter Olivia Murphy, who played in 95 sets and 30 matches as a freshman. She says she's been working hard to improve her defense in her sophomore year.

The Ravens have a preseason scrimmage with NEO on August 15th, before opening the 2024 season with home games against Ottawa JV on the 26th, and defending national champion Cowley on the 28th.
