KGGF wraps up the preseason football coverage from Media Day with the Hutchinson Blue Dragons, projected to win the KJCCC conference for the sixth consecutive season.

 

The Dragons are led by fifth year head coach Drew Dallas, who enters the season with an overall record of 38-4 as a head coach. He says the program is replacing a few coaches from last season.

 

The Dragons have key returners on both sides of the ball, and display one of the more experienced teams in the conference. Dallas says the team maturity will play a large role this season.

 

Hutchinson has only lost one conference game in four seasons under Dallas, a season opening loss to Coffeyville in 2021. Dallas says, however, you can't get comfortable in a conference like the Jayhawk.

 

Hutchinson also returns the co-offensive player of the year in 2023 in quarterback Samari Collier, as well as adding former Highland star receiver Benson Prosper. The Blue Dragons open the season against New Mexico Military Institute on August 29th.
