The Highland Scotties are ranked 4th in the preseason football poles of the KJCCC. Under 2nd year head coach DJ Mayo, the Scotties were ranked to finish 7th in last year's preseason poll. After finishing last year with a 6-5 record last season, Mayo says it doesn't really matter where you start.
New Quarterback Gunner Smith is a transfer from UCF. While Mayo is looking forward to seeing the offense on the field, he says the two main components for his team's success is defense and discipline.
Highland will open their season against Monroe August 31st.
