The Kansas City Chiefs organization has another award in the building.
Voice of the Chiefs Mitch Holthus was named Kansan of the Year yesterday during a banquet in Washington, D.C. The event is held annually by the Kansas Society.
Holthus was chosen for the award based on his devotion and passion to the state, and the example he has set for citizens of the Sunflower State.
He has been the voice of Kansas City since 1994, and is the longest running play-by-play broadcaster in Chiefs history.
Holthus joins other decorated Kansans of the Year Mike Pompeo, Rob Riggle, Jim Colbert, and Pat Roberts.
