Pair of Royals Prospects Named to Futures Game

All-Star Game festivities begin for Major League baseball, and the Royals are sending two top prospects to participate.

Right-handed pitcher Ben Kudrna and outfielder Gavin Cross were selected to represent the organization in the annual Futures Game, which takes place this weekend in Arlington.

Cross was a first round pick in 2022, and has turned in a solid season thus far in Double-A, hitting .279 with eight home runs and 15 stolen bases. He is the seventh-ranked prospect in the Royals organization.

Kudrna has been dominant in High-A ball, posting a 3.14 earned run average across 12 total starts. He is the team's third-ranked prospect.

Cross and Kudrna will play for the American League prospect team, which features other young stars Marcelo Meyer, Max Clark, James Wood, and Dylan Crews. The seven inning game is tomorrow at 3 p.m. on MLB Network.
