Big XII Media Days recently wrapped up in Las Vegas, with teams eager and confident in their chances at the conference championship.
The Kansas State Wildcats are considered a favorite in the conference, receiving 19 total first-place votes in the preseason poll.
The Wildcats will by led by sophomore quarterback Avery Johnson. Head coach Chris Klieman says Johnson has worked hard to become a leader in the program.
Johnson is the highest rated QB in the history of KSU football. He says he's been focusing on being a consistent presence in the locker room.
The Wildcats will also be replacing Colin Klein as the offensive coordinator, who departed for Texas A&M. Connor Riley takes over play calling duty for the Wildcat offense.
Klieman says Riley has earned the opportunity.
Kansas State opens the season against Tennessee Martin on August 31st.
