New kickoff rules are coming to the NFL this season, and the Kansas City Chiefs are planning a major move to adapt to them.
Safety Justin Reid is planning to be the kickoff specialist for the team, leaving Harrison Butker as the kicker for field goals and extra points. The new rules are expected to increase both the number of returns, and the likelihood of return touchdowns, making an extra tackler on special teams crucial.
Reid says there are many differences to how the ball will be kicked this year.
Reid has also been a key piece of the KC defense, being a leader on the unit that's won consecutive Super Bowls. He says the team has their eyes set on the three peat.
Training camp for the team begins at the end of July, with the preseason beginning in August.
