The popular TBT Basketball Tournament, which features alumni teams of numerous schools across the country, begins this weekend with the winner taking home $1 million.

 

The Kansas Jayhawks will be participating with their alumni team, Mass Street TBT, and will be led by a KU legend. Frank Mason III will be playing in the TBT for the first time, joining other alum such as Thomas Robinson and LeGerald Vick.

 

Mason is an undisputed legend in Lawrence, winning the 2017 National Player of the Year. He says he's excited to play in front of the Jayhawk fans.

 

Mason began his professional career in the NBA, but has spent the past two seasons overseas. He says he's grown a lot as a player since his time as a Jayhawk.

 

The TBT Tournament features many unique aspects, with the major one being the Elam Ending, which ensures every game ends with a game-winning shot. Mason says he's eager for the opportunity to hit the winner.

 

The Jayhawk team will be playing in the Wichita Region of the tournament, with the first game tomorrow afternoon.
