Jayhawk basketball has suffered a brutal injury, with a key piece of last year's team suffering a season-ending injury.
Guard Elmarko Jackson will miss the entire 2024-25 season after suffering a torn patellar tendon in a workout this week. The projected recovery time is 12-14 months.
Jackson is a former McDonald's All-American and was a four-star recruit out of high school in Marlton, New Jersey. He averaged 4.3 points per game last season, including starting 18 games during the year, and would have been a key guard on this year's roster.
The Jayhawks will lean more on transfers AJ Storr and Zeke Mayo with the loss of Jackson.
