A Red Raven football player is headed to the Power 5, commiting to the Pittsburgh Panthers last week.
Punter Cade Dowd announced his commitment to Pitt after serving as the starting punter for the Ravens last season. He says it hasn't fully set in yet that he's headed to the ACC.
Pittsburgh has been a consistent contender in the ACC for the past several years, winning the conference championship in 2022. Dowd says there was an instant connection when he made his visit.
Dowd was denied a waiver to continue his junior college career, ending his time in Coffeyville after just one season. He says he will be forever thankful for the memories in JUCO.
Dowd recently competed in the Kohl's Texas Kicking, Punting, and Snapping Showcase, where he ranked first in roll out punts, first in transfer punts, and third overall. He will compete with incumbent starter Caleb Junko for the starting job.
