Jayhawk Athletic Director Receives Massive Exetension

The leader of the Kansas Jayhawks athletic department has received a long-term extension to stay in Lawrence.

Athletic Director Travis Goff has agreed to a seven-year deal that runs through 2031, and is worth $1.6 million annually, nearly $900,000 more per year than in his previous contract.

Goff's main claim to fame since arriving in Lawrence is hiring head football coach Lance Leipold, who has returned the Jayhawk football team to national prominence.

Goff has made KU football a priority for the athletic department, helping to organize more than $450 million in football facility projects for both stadium and overall facillity upgrates. The Jayhawks have also invested $50 million into upgrades at Allen Fieldhouse.

The extension keeps the three main faces of Jayhawk athletics in Lawrence long-term, with Bill Self locked in to a lifetime contract, Leipold through the 2029 season, and Goff now through 2031.
