One of the leaders of the Red Raven men's basketball team is headed to Division 1.
Cris Carroll has committed to Youngstown State University, a D1 program in the Horizon League conference. Assistant coach Braeden Proctor says Carroll has a great basketball track record.
Carroll transfered to Coffeyville after a freshman season at Hutchinson Community College, where he immediately became a star for the Red Ravens. Carroll had three consecutive games with 25+ points to begin the season, and posted 34 points and 18 rebounds against Dodge City after returning from an illness.
Former assistant coach Jake Odum says Carroll has a bright future.
Carroll was named 1st-team all-KJCCC this season, and was the fifth leading scorer at 18.8 points per game.
