The 2024 Track and Field State Championships begin tomorrow, and a pair of Field Kindley athletes look to end the season on top.

 

Sophomore Erin Lopez has been one of the best sprinters in the state all season, winning the 100 meter and 200 meter dash at Regionals, as well as being a piece of the 4x100 relay team. She says she's focusing on the preparation for state this year.

 

Senior Dante Boykin is also looking to stand out, competing in the triple jump, long jump, and 4x100 meter dash. He says events on the track help him with his timing with field events.

 

Boykin is the defending state champion in the triple jump, and runner up in the long jump. He says he wants to take it all in during his last state meet.

 

Field Kindley is sending 13 total athletes to Wichita for the state meet. KGGF will provide updated results throughout the weekend.
