The 2024 Kansas Track and Field State championships are just days away, and Field Kindley runners are preparing to go for gold.

 

The Nado have 13 total athletes participating in the state meet, including four girls from the 4x100 meter relay team. Sophomore Jakayla Johnson-Jones says she plans to use the energy of the meet as motivation.

 

Sophomore Audrey Cavaness is not only on the 4x100 team, but is also running the 400 meter at state. She says it's important to use your energy wisely.

 

Both Johnson-Jones and Cavaness are returning to state after reaching the state meet in their freshman year. Cavaness says she looks forward to the intensity of it.

 

The state meet begins on Friday in Wichita. KGGF will continue to cover different athletes from the Field Kindley track and field team leading up to the meet.
