Hutchinson Names Fisher Head Coach

The Hutchinson Blue Dragons have their next men's basketball coach.

The Blue Dragons have announced Kyle Fisher as the 16th head coach in the history of Hutchinson basketball. He will be officially introduced at a news conference on Wednesday.

Fisher is seasoned in the Jayhawk conference, spending time as an assistant coach at Coffeyville, before being named the head coach of the Butler Grizzlies, where he's been for five seasons.

Red Raven coach Jay Herkelman says he's excited for Coach Fisher.

Over his five seasons at Butler, Fisher's teams posted a 113-42 overall record. With the exception of the COVID season, Butler won at least 23 games each season under Coach Fisher.

Herkelman says Fisher shows strong traits of an effective head coach.

In seven seasons on the CCC staff, the Ravens won 179 games, with four trips to the national tournament, including a national semifinal finish in the 2018-19 season.

The Blue Dragons finished 29-7 last season, and are replacing Tommy DeSalme, who took the head coach position at Bartlesville High School last month.
