Perez Injured as Royals Drop Series Finale

The Kansas City Royals drop the rubber match series finale to the New York Mets, falling 2-1.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the eighth, when the Mets scratched across two runs. Vinnie Pasquantino homered in the ninth, but it would not be enough for KC.

Catcher Salvador Perez left the game in the fourth inning with an injury, following a collision at the plate. Manager Matt Quatraro says there will be more testing today.

Left-hander Cole Ragans continued his dominance, spinning six shutout innings with eight strikeouts. Ragans has not allowed a run on the road this season, and has a total ERA of 1.93.

Quatraro says he does everything at a high level.

Kansas City will begin a series with the Chicago White Sox, with coverage beginning at 6 p.m. and first pitch at 6:40 on the Mighty 690. Seth Lugo will start for the Royals.
