Legendary football player O.J. Simpson has passed away at the age of 76 following a battle with prostate cancer.

 

Simpson is regarded as one of the most talented athletes in sports history, winning the Heisman trophy as a star running back at Southern California, before rushing for over 11,000 yards in the NFL, winning four rushing titles.

 

Simpson's life was not without plenty of controversy off the football field. ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Rauch details the controversy surrounding the personal life of O.J. Simpson.

 

Simpson was originally acquitted of the murder charges, but was later found liable in a civil trial. He served ten years in prison from 2007-17 for kidnapping and armed robbery charges, after attempting to steal back career memorabilia.

 

Simpson was surrounded by his children and grandchildren when he passed.
