Royals Starting Pitching Among League's Best

The Kansas City Royals have won two of their past three games, with starting pitching leading the way for the team.

Seth Lugo threw 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball in a 10-1 victory over the White Sox, becoming the latest KC pitcher to turn in a quality performance.

Manager Matt Quatraro says Lugo is one of the best at inducing soft contact.

Michael Wacha is the only starter to allow three runs this season, with Cole Ragans, Seth Lugo, Alec Marsh, and Brady Singer all having ERAs below 1.5.

Through the first full week of the season, the Royals starting staff ranks second in the MLB with a 1.43 team ERA, as well as a league high 44 innings pitched, and 43 strikeouts, which ranks fifth.

Singer is the next pitcher to get the ball, when the Royals look to get back to .500 tonight against the Chicago White Sox.

Coverage begins at 6 p.m. with first pitch at 6:40 on the Mighty 690, KGGF.
