Ragans Dominant, Royals Slip Late

Cole Ragans continues to show flashes of a top level pitcher in Major League Baseball.

The lefty went 6 1/3 innings, only allowing one hit and no runs, with seven strikeouts. The Royals bullpen would lose the lead late, falling 4-3 to the Baltimore Orioles in the series finale.

Manager Matt Quatraro says it's a frustrating defeat.

Ragans has 16 strikeouts in his first two starts of the season, tying the Royals record for most in the first two outings of a season in franchise history, matching Zack Greinke in 2009 and Tom Gordon in 1990.

Quatraro says Ragans is as good as it gets when he's dialed in.

Kansas City returns home to begin a four-game series with the Chicago White Sox. Seth Lugo will make his second start of the season, opposed by Michael Soroka of Chicago.

Coverage begins at 6 with first pitch at 6:40 tonight on the Mighty 690, KGGF.
