Jackson County voters have a decision to make, and Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas has given his opinion.

 

Lucas endorsed the "Vote Yes on Question 1" campaign during a press conference at Kauffman Stadium, which would extend the 3/8-cent sales tax to help fund a new Royals ballpark and renovations to Arrowhead Stadium.

 

Lucas says it isn't just about the sports with this issue.

 

In recent months, the Royals have shared details regarding a stadium relocation to the East Crossroads district in downtown Kansas City, which would in turn open up space around Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs to expand on gameday fan experience.

 

Lucas says this decision could propel the city to an even brigter future.

 

Jackson County will vote on the issue tomorrow.
