Area Wrestlers Advancing to Final Day

 

With Day two of the 4A-1A state wrestling championships in progress, multiple area wrestlers have punched their ticket to the final round.

 

Independence wresler Kohen Wright was victorious in the 138 pound semifinal, and will wrestle Damon Ingram of Rose Hill for the state championship tomorrow.

 

Kainen White of Field Kindley drops his semifinal match to Baker North of Bishop Miege. White will wrestle for third place tomorrow.

 

Cooper Smith and Reyce Booe of Cherryvale, along with Mason Gibbons and Keith Sanders of Independence all advance in respective consolation brackets.

 

Field Kindley girls wrestler Emma Hall will compete in the 105 pound semifinals, against the top seed, Alissa Cowing of Clay Center. Fredonia wrestler Layla Tindle is the top seed in 115, and wrestles Holly Thatcher in the semifinals.

 

West Elk wrestler Kayla Wright will battle Zoey Kessler in the consolation bracket this afternoon.
