Bullpups Split Doubleheader with Commerce

 

 The Caney Valley Bullpups traveled to Commerce to take on the Tigers in a high school basketball doubleheader, the guys defeated Commerce 66-48, while the girls fell 56-38.

 Colt Hightower led all scorers with 23 points, including five three pointers, while Payton Darden and Ben Matthews combined for 17 in the paint for the Pups. 
 The play in the paint was also a strong point for the Lady Bullpups. Kimberly Owens led Caney with 20 points and Sarah Martinez added seven, but it wasn't enough. 
 Commerce's Lacy Brough led all scorers with 27; 23 of those in the 1st half, and Commerce used a 20 point 3rd quarter to pull away from Caney and come away with a victory. 
 Up next for the Bullpups, a Tuesday doubleheader against Dewey.
