The defending champion Liberty Tigers showed why they are the number one seed, as they defeated the Caney Valley (KS) Bullpups 74-54 in round one of the Ramona Basketball Tournament. 
 

 The Bullpups were able to keep it close for the first 15 minutes before the Tigers began to pull away as the half came to a close. 
 

 Colt Hightower led the Bullpups in scoring with 18 points, while Payton Darden added eight and Layne Denny scored seven in the loss. 
 

 Jarren Cargil led Liberty with 24 points, while Trent Thompson scored 23 and Jayce Wheeler added 13.

 The Bullpups will be back in action Friday afternoon at 2:30 on Greatest Hits 104.1.
