Fort Smith Names Tylor Perry Day

This holiday weekend was a memorable one for both Tylor Perry and the city of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Fort Smith is formally recognizing December 23rd as "Tylor Perry Day", celebrating the basketball star's upbringing in the Arkansas River Valley, as well as his journey on the court.

Perry was the NJCAA national tournament MVP in 2021, after leading the Coffeyville Red Ravens to the first national championship under head coach Jay Herkelman.

Following a transfer to North Texas, Perry is one of only five players in program history to score 1,000 points in two seasons at UNT.

Perry is finishing his college basketball career in Manhattan with Kansas State this season, and the Wildcats are 9-3 with one game remaining before conference play.
