The winter break puts a brief pause on conference play across the KJCCC, but both the men's and women's teams at Coffeyville Community College have some positive momentum.

 

The Lady Ravens are 10-2 and in a tie for third place in the conference, just a half game out of first place. Head coach Tony Turner says he has a veteran squad that knows what it takes to compete for a championship.

 

Jay Herkelman has a very young team with 12 newcomers, and have experienced ups and downs through the first five weeks of the season. However, the team has won consecutive games by double digits, and seem to be turning a corner and gaining confidence.

 

Herkelman says his group just needs to keep handling their business.

 

The men play one final game tomorrow afternoon against Seminole State, before both teams return to action on January 3rd against the Barton Cougars.
