It was a successful start to conference play for the Red Ravens, completing a doubleheader sweep over the Pratt Beavers.

 

The Lady Ravens opened the afternoon with a 72-65 win. Bailey Layman had 22 points, and Karys Washington added 20 points and 12 rebounds. The Ravens won the rebound battle 51-37.

 

Head coach Tony Turner says his team stepped up in the clutch.

 

The men followed up the successful opener with an 85-70 win, snapping a brief two game losing streak. Jahni Summers led the team with 19 points, and Izek Jackson had a double-double, along with three steals and three blocks.

 

Assistant coach Braeden Proctor says the team responded well following a pair of losses.

 

The Lady Ravens improve to 6-1 on the season, while the men improve to 4-2. Both teams return to action at Nellis Hall on Tuesday night against the Cloud County Thunderbirds.
