Red Raven basketball starts tomorrow, and returning sophomore Izek Jackson is poised for a breakout season.
The 6-foot-seven forward out of Enterprise, Kansas, was a key energy piece off the bench for Jay Herkelman last season. Now expected to be moved into the starting lineup, Jackson says he's working on adjusting his game to more minutes.
Jackson was determined to get work in during the offseason. He says he spent the summer working with a former Jayhawk star and current NBA player.
In 25 games played last season, Jackson averaged 4.3 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game, with a season high 10 points against NW Kansas Tech in January.
Jackson will be a crucial leader for the Red Ravens, as they open the season against Fort Scott tomorrow night on US 98 and the Red Raven Sports Network.
