Field Kindley keeps their season alive after a shootout victory over Augusta 60-50. Augusta got the game started firing on all cylinders offensively with 250 yards in the first quarter and a 21-13 lead. The Nado would step up in the second quarter holding the Orioles to just seven yards of offense. The Nado would also go on a 21-0 run to take a 34-21 lead into halftime.
The uptempo pace of the game would continue in the second half as Augusta would pull back in front 35-34. Junior Aaron Tunstall would answer right back on the ensuing kick-off giving the Nado the lead back 41-35 with a 98-yard kick return touchdown.
The Orioles would answer on their next play with an 80-yard touchdown pass and then Coffeyville got the lead back at the end of the third 47-42. On Augusta's first play of the fourth quarter they would take the lead back on a trick play double pass and after the two point conversion would lead 50-47. With 11 minutes left in the game Tunstall would do it again for his seventh touchdown of the night on a go ahead 48-yard score. Coffeyville would add one more score for good measure and the 60-50 win.
Augusta had 594 yards of offense scoring seven touchdowns as a team. Tunstall ran for 381 yards on 24 carries and six rushing touchdowns. The 98-yard kick return touchdown would give him 479 all purpose yards and seven total scores. Coffeyville would head on the road to face Wellington in their second round matchup.
