Woods-Blackowl Determined to Lead Raven Offense

After being one of the best floor generals in the KJCCC as a freshman, point guard Tetona Woods-Blackowl is ready to lead the Coffeyville offense.

The sophomore from El Reno, Oklahoma, started in 32 games as a true freshman, and averaged 5.8 points per game and 4.8 assists per game. She says she could not have anticipated having such a large role immediately.

Woods-Blackowl had the best assist-to-turnover ratio of any starter in the Jayhawk conference last season. She says that's a part of her game that she's focused on for years.

Despite a career high 22 points in a playoff win over Dodge City, and a freshman season full of impact moments, Woods-Blackowl is looking to grow as a player in 2023-24. She says she has set some personal goals for herself this season.

Tetona and the Lady Ravens open the season on Wednesday against Labette County.
