The men's basketball team at Coffeyville Community College is making strides forward while getting ready for the regular season.

 

CCC played a trio of games over the weekend during the annual Jamboree, which was the team's second set of scrimmages this month.

 

Red Raven coach Jay Herkelman says his group is improving each week.

 

This year's team features 11 new players with only two players returning from last season. Herkelman says the talent is there, but the team has to learn to play together.

 

Former Red Raven point guard Tylor Perry was recently named one of the 25 best college basketball players in the nation. Herkelman says it's a testament to the hard work he's put in.

 

Coffeyville opens the season in two weeks against Fort Scott.
